Susan Rocco found her true calling in 1985 as the coordinator of a new parent information and referral program--the Special Parent Information Network--within the Disability and Communication Access Board and in partnership with the Hawai‘i Department of Education. She likes to say that her son Jason “got her the job” as they were looking for a parent of a child with a disability to provide parent-to-parent support and systems advocacy for other families.
