JoAnn Purcell
JoAnn Purcell, PhD (Critical Disability Studies, York U), used comics as a research method to inquire into disability and difference. A perpetual student, she has a MA in Art History from York University, BScN from the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art. She is the current and founding Coordinator of Illustration at Seneca College. Recent publications include “Disability Daily Drawn: A Comics Collaboration” in Graphic Medicine (U of Hawai‘i Press, 2022), “Comics, Caregiving and Crip Time” in Comics Picturing Girlhood (Leuven U Press, 2022). Her dissertation will be published by Wilfrid Laurier U Press.
