Corruption amongst public officials in Hawai‘i has been exposed and alleged at the highest levels in the Honolulu police department and Honolulu prosecutor’s office, Honolulu and Hawai‘i County mayors’ offices, as well as in the Hawai‘i state legislature. Honolulu Police Commissioner Doug Chin, former Federal Public Defender Alexander Silvert and Common Cause leader Heather Ferguson discuss why corruption has been so rampant in Hawai‘i and what the leaders and the public can do to put a stop to it.
