Hawaii Terrestrial Director
Boulder, Colorado
I'm a new transplant to Colorado living in Boulder since 2022. I work remotely as the Terrestrial Director for the Hawaii chapter of The Nature Conservancy. My expertise lies in landscape scale natural resource management, utilizing new tools and technologies to enhance early detection and rapid response of priority invasive species, partnerships and team building. My current big projects are: 1) utilizing and delivering a biotechnology tool (Incompatible Insect Technique) to suppress invasive mosquitoes in order to prevent the extinction of Hawaiian forest birds, and 2) testing and refining various Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning models and algorithms to identify, classify, and notify managers of invasive species presence and distribution in native-dominant ecosystems.
